Dr. Anya Heise-von der Lippe

PD Dr. Anya Heise-von der Lippe is Interim Professor of English Literature at TU Dortmund during the summer semester 2024. She has been teaching English Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Tübingen since 2013, as Assistant Lecturer with the chair of Anglophone Literatures (Prof. Dr. Dr. Russell West-Pavlov). Before that she worked as a Media Editor for a schoolbook publisher for 10 years and taught as an external lecturer at the TU Berlin and FU Berlin. She holds a PhD from the University of Tübingen (2019) and a post-doctoral degree (Habilitation) from the University of Potsdam (2023). Her publications include the edited volume Posthuman Gothic (2017) and the monograph Monstrous Textualities (2021) – both published with the University of Wales press, as well as the forthcoming second monograph Writing Romantic Climate Change, which will be published with transcript in July 2024. She has also published a number of shorter articles on Gothic literature, monsters, zombies, dystopias and hypertext – among other things. Her research interests include Intersectional Feminism and Disability Studies, Climate Literature, the critical Posthumanities and the critical engagement with AI discourses.
